Leather (or fabric) Loom Strop - Innovative Design This is a high-quality loom strop for razor, knife, scalpel, and tool stropping/sharpening that gives the best possible surface. Stropping surface area for this design measures 40mm x 200mm. One side can be coated with honing paste or spray, while the other side remains plain leather. Required parts: 2 x Steel rods - 6mm diameter x 210mm length (ensure they are identical lengths) 1 x M5 Brass threaded insert (or use an M5 nut, but not recommended) 1 x M5 Thread - 70mm long (cut from a 70mm long M5 screw for optimal results) Leather or fabric - Cut a strip 40mm wide x 450mm long (a 1.5 inch plain leather belt works well too) Leather needles, thread, and hole punches (stitch the ends of the leather or fabric together) Notes: As an alternative to leather, you can use 40mm/1.5 inch cotton webbing, linen, denim fabric, or seatbelt webbing. To create a longer strop, simply use longer steel rods and a longer strip of leather. Steps: Print all parts (use PLA with 100% infill for optimal results) Thread and epoxy glue your M5 thread into the handle. Ensure approximately 40mm thread protrudes out. Stitch the two ends of the leather/fabric strop together, overlapping by about 15mm. Use the "Threaded Stop" printed part as a template to mark the position of three holes in your leather strop, then punch the 6mm holes. Melt your brass M5 insert into the center hole of the "Threaded Stop" printed part (or use a M5 nut on the inside if you prefer). Assemble all parts, referring to my photos as an example. Tighten the handle to achieve a stable and tight loom strop. When not in use, loosen the tension slightly to prevent unnecessary leather stretching.
