Longsword hilt grip basic
thingiverse
I designed a grip for a longsword foam waster, adjusting its dimensions by +5% in both X and Y axes due to material shrinkage during the manufacturing process. This custom-made foam waster features an 8mm glassfiber core, perfect for HEMA practitioners who require high-quality gear. As a beginner in historical European martial arts, I struggled to find local resources to craft my own equipment; however, browsing online revealed numerous top-notch longsword wasters available for purchase. The issue with buying these products remotely lies in the inability to physically inspect their quality before making a purchase. To overcome this challenge, I opted for a DIY approach, allowing me to create and repair my gear as needed. By doing so, I can ensure that any potential issues are addressed promptly. Here are the print settings used for this custom foam waster: Printer: Vertex K8400 Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.1mm Infill: 40% Notes: To prevent slippage on the worn buildtac surface, I applied a brim to secure the printed object in place.
