Longsword
thingiverse
The longsword is a double-handed European sword that dominated combat from the 13th to the 17th centuries. This powerful sword features a long, double-edged blade used primarily in close-range fighting. Typically, the blade measures between 33 and 43 inches in length. Designed using Autodesk Inventor and fine-tuned with Microsoft 3D Builder, this model showcases a blade that is approximately 40 inches long. To accommodate smaller printers, the model has been broken down into 5-inch parts. The original uncut design is also included for those who prefer it. Important Assembly Notes: Nine supports are required to assemble this sword properly. However, these supports must be scaled down by 2-5% to ensure a snug fit. The scaling percentage may vary depending on the filament and print nozzle used. Special Printing Instructions: To achieve a blade length of 40 inches, six Blade parts need to be printed (each part has "x6" in its name). If you want a longer or shorter sword, simply adjust the number of Blade parts accordingly. Each part is roughly 5 inches tall.
