This 3D model is based on a Texas icon - the longhorn steer, commonly featured in the emblematic imagery of that region's history and pride. The render shows an adult longhorn with horns that spiral out from its forehead, reflecting their distinctive physical attribute that they use to defend against predators. Created using the powerful 3D computer-aided design (CAD) software, Maya, it features precise modeling of the steer's muscles and texture that provides an impressionistic quality. With a highly realistic color scheme reminiscent of sun-kissed open fields of Texas, the model exudes rugged strength while remaining sleek. The texture map offers a subtle display of sweat as well as worn-in patches on the steer's body where they frequently come into contact with thorny branches and thick vegetation. As an intricate design element often found at high schools, restaurants and bars in rural Texas or places serving up BBQ ribs and steaks that would make any longhorn proud, it symbolizes unbridled energy, resilience and tenacity of the wild spirit found deep within. The creator made a decision to export this model via the free open-source computer animation program, Blender which gave users who own compatible versions of operating systems full flexibility with manipulating different parameters.
