Longevity Bowl

Longevity Bowl

I created a remake of Birk Binnard's distinctive oval bowl, drawing inspiration from his clever design on the bottom pattern. I particularly liked how he implemented that design element, so I adapted it to create my own miniature bowl. This was a straightforward yet satisfying small project. The "S-line" patterns seen in Chinese longevity design bowls were the starting point for this remake. Although I designed this bowl with display in mind, others can easily scale up the dimensions to suit their needs. UPDATE 10/30/19 - I made some slight adjustments to the dimensions of my bowl. The central hole measures 1.25 inches in diameter. UPDATE 11/5/19 - I'd like to extend my gratitude to Chris L3d for allowing me to post his photographs of the 3rd and 4th pictures. The miniature table featured in the thumbnail image is part of a set I purchased during my visit to Beijing. I've also included printed details for your reference.
