Longboard Wheel Guard v2 97mm
thingiverse
I noticed that the original mudguard splashed water towards the middle of the board's underside, where the battery was located, creating a significant problem. Deciding to take action, I created a revised design by adding an extra "wall" on the inside and rotating the guard 180 degrees to prevent water/mud from flying onto the battery. The added "wall" is 25mm tall to accommodate direct-drive motors with a diameter of about 65mm. This modification ensures that the motor fits snugly within the guard's design. Another critical change was made when I realized my nut wouldn't fit into the original design, which only accommodated nuts 12.5mm wide. To resolve this issue, I widened the "nut holder" to a standard 13mm width, matching an M8, also known as 13mm or 1/2 inch nut perfectly. Additionally, a small protrusion was added to minimize friction on the bearings, which is now contained within a narrow 2.6mm space between the nut and bearing. This revised design was specifically tailored for the 97mm version of the mudguard.
