Longboard Brake System
grabcad
The Extreme Redesign product description focuses on a longboard brake system that solves the problem of braking while descending steep hills. Most longboards currently lack built-in brake systems, so riders usually rely on shoe or glove friction for slowing down. The proposed solution offers the convenience of foot-activated braking, prevents worn-out shoes and gloves, and is particularly beneficial for young riders who are yet to learn traditional braking methods. The brake system is designed with a clamp base attached to the board using existing screws and a lever on a hinge system that rotates like a scooter brake. For rapid production, it will be 3D printed in two parts using SlS (Selective Laser Sintering) technology, which allows for various materials including metal.
