thought 120 characters was a bit short for description….So this is a customisable sword, and is designed with a 13mm channel running through the blade and handle so that you get strength running through so you don't have to worry about it breaking (well less so, still don't hit people with it, because it'll hurt). I use a 12mm wooden dowel from my local hardware store, but have been told half inch also works.Example picture, In the photo I have used 5x blade_segments and 2x grips (~80cm). but you can size it to how big you are, I have a variation that is 4x blade_segments (~70cm) that is sweet, and a big one with 6x blade_segments & 3x grips (100cm) for a bastardsword/hand and a half sword. Variations, whilst I did used to have all the variations on other sites, but have collected them on my patreon for free and public, so there are 2x BladeProfiles, 3x CrossGuards, and 3x Pummels, also a bunch of grips which are tapered and spacers to create different styles.Printing wise just do like a good amount of walls for strength, if you are going larger layer sizes for the blade due to it's size, for the tip run a thinner layers for more strength (i normally do 0.25mm for the segments then 0.2mm for the tip)I'm 50:50 on fuzzy skin, but if you want a bit more fabric look on the grip, I've found 1.2mm distance and 0.2mm thickness? on 0.2mm layer height looks pretty good.Assembly I'd start with the tip and top blade section first when gluing onto a wooden core, then use two small bits of tape to make sure they align and let it set. early swords I did starting at the grip ended up with wonky blades as they were harder to lay flat whilst drying and used so much tape that i wouldn't notice they went wonky.Finishing, I love painting stuff, so i normally sand with like a 60grit, then a 200grit, use some generic wood filler to close the joins between sections, let dry for an hour or two then 200 grit, then paint to my hearts content, trying out spray fillers and paints on my next generation so will let you know. have probably forgotten something, but can't think of it
