In 2017/2018, Ryerson University presented an innovative longboard security and safety concept by Sahil Saroy & Dan Sobieraj under Professor Vincent Hui. The design integrates a locking and lighting system that fits most longboards, skateboards, and penny boards due to its compatibility with universal truck dimensions. This versatile product offers red and white lights for enhanced visibility from both sides, ensuring riders can be seen by cars and spot any obstacles ahead. Both lockboxes come equipped with a Kensington lock that allows users to choose from thousands of combination options. The Long-Lock set is supplied in pairs, allowing the board to be secured vertically without obstructing sidewalks.
