Long Lens Adapter
thingiverse
I have a compact tripod that I take with me whenever I go backpacking, climbing, or somewhere else where bigger gear is impractical. It's fantastic for its size and weight, setting up quickly and effortlessly. The only issue is that it's not very stable, particularly when using longer lenses. This adapter lets you adjust the position of the camera body in relation to the tripod so that you can shift the balance of your camera and accommodate long lenses. Adjustability comes from a captive nut inside the adapter itself. This nut interacts with the head of the tripod, and when it's clamped down, it secures the position of the camera. The adapter is made up of two parts that are bonded together - this holds the nut safely inside. A captive screw at the top connects to your camera; this screw is held in place by another nut, which itself is retained by an O-ring. A sleeve and a detent on one side keep a 3/16 hex wrench handy for securing your camera to the adapter.
