here we have a new vehicle - a so-called "long bread vehicle" that used to be used in my childhood here in berlin, germany by the american occupying forces at tempelhof airport - the so-called doodlebug tankerhttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Texaco_Doodlebugyou can't find much about this vehicle on the internet today - only 6 vehicles are said to have been built.this - my newly reconstructed project - from my old data destroyed by the German state - is something that probably many people recognize: it is a self-propelled canteen and also contains:mobile grill for chickens and othersmotor-pack (1)The special thing about this vehicle: it has a revolving door at the front and rear that opens to the right or left!I think I'll do it a little differently: we have to completely rebuild the vehicle:- a chassis with its own inline boxer engines, here as complete engine pack- 16 wheel hub motors on suspension with wheelbase 875 mm- 8 mobile grill for chickens and others- one driver's seat in the front and one in the back- vehicle length 7850 mm- vehicle width 2540 mm- vehicle height 1820 mm- storage area in the middle for supplying the machinesand: i think we manufacture everything ourselves from ALUMINUM SHEET, 6.8 mm thick: because of the open structure - that means after welding all surfaces are openly accessible.this is now a throwback to what was destroyed in my old projects: it was all made of steel - and so it made sense not to use hollow profiles that can rust quietly and secretly. In addition, making it yourself has the advantage that you can roll it yourself, through extrusion - to achieve a high surface quality and high material strength - without having to grind or rework.I have a reconstructed idea here: since I could not find any dimensions, the doodlebug tanker, which used to be considered a model, is very poorly described on the internet, hardly any data can be found!so let's start with the design from the requirements side: what do we need, what size does it have to be, and what are the dimensions of our newly reconstructed assemblies: does it all fit together?about the function: the "long bread vehicle" - once arose from what used to be known as mobile canteens
