The London Eye was designed by architects David Marks, Julia Barfield, Malcolm Cook, Mark Sparrowhawk, Steven Chilton and Nic Bailey. Each of the 32 passenger capsules attached to its circumference can hold around 25 people, who are able to move freely inside. There are also seating options available within each capsule. The entire wheel rotates at a steady pace of about 26 centimeters per second or just under half a mile per hour. Due to this slow rotation speed, one full circle takes approximately thirty minutes to complete. To board and disembark, passengers simply walk on and off the capsules while they are still in motion, with some exceptions for passengers who need assistance. However, whenever disabled or elderly individuals need help boarding, the entire wheel stops its rotation temporarily.
