London City Airport (IATA: LCY, ICAO: EGLC) is a major international airport serving London, England. Located in the Royal Docks within the London Borough of Newham, it's situated approximately 7 miles east of the City of London and only a short distance from Canary Wharf. These twin hubs are at the heart of London's financial district, which relies heavily on this busy airport. Developed by the renowned engineering firm Mowlem between 1986 and 1987, London City Airport was acquired in 2016 by a Canadian-led consortium consisting of Alberta Investment Management Corporation (AIMCo), OMERS, the Ontario Teachers Pension Plan, and Wren House Infrastructure Management from the Kuwait Investment Authority.
