This creature's native world has a very slow rotation period, resulting in extremely long day and night cycles. As a result, the Lonchotherium has evolved a second pair of 'eyes' highly sensitive to infrared light, allowing it to hunt effectively on the night side as it traverses the planet's vast grasslands back and forth with incredible agility. Its impressive horns are used as a primary hunting tool, enabling the creature to quickly build up speed and impale its prey with deadly precision, killing it instantly or allowing it to bleed out. Playing dead is advised as the best chance to survive an unexpected encounter."
