Lombardi Trophy - Philadelphia Eagles - SB LII
thingiverse
This is a replica of the Vince Lombardy trophy for the Philadelphia Eagles Super Bowl LII win in 2018. This is a big print that I have not cut up. I have a Creality CR-10 and these files all fit within the print volume. The Base is just under the max height of the CR-10. And the Ball halves fit lying flat at a 45 degree angle from corner to corner. This is all slotted fit and will need gluing up to become solid. There is also a hole running between the parts for a 1/2" schedule 40 PVC pipe cut to about 392mm to slot through and give a bit more weight and stability between the base plate, and the ball top. THE BASE - It is very easy to get zits from any oozing as the entire outside are concave radiuses. The nozzle will cross the outside perimeter a few times every layer as it moves from corner to corner in a straight line. In Cura I blocked all the supports everything accept the corner steps which the base plate joins up with. You never see the inside so it doesn't need to look pretty up top. Saves time and material. THE BALL - It is best to hide the seam inside the grove song the center of the ball. THE NFL SHIELD - Print vertically with supports for best detail, Resin would be best if available. I have added a second shield with a bit of support that can be snipped away. I was having trouble printing without it since there is only a .4mm connection to the print bed, and would break off without running supports right up to the model, which were then a pain to take off cleanly. THE PINS - Print 4 of them.
