Lollipop Bouquet

Lollipop Bouquet

This makes a base with roughly evenly spaced holes to hold lollipops for creating a nice bouquet. I filled mine with Dum Dums, and the base is designed like a sphere with angled holes inside. To attach the bouquet to something or set it on a table, I cut off the bottom of the sphere to create a flat surface. The design also includes a feature to adjust various parameters in customizer. Users can change: the size of the sphere, how much of the sphere's bottom to cut off, the diameter of lollipop sticks, allowing for alternative options besides Dum Dums, the total number of lollipop sticks, note that this is not an exact number since the entered quantity is distributed evenly across the entire sphere, and thus some may be cut short at the base. I also defined settings for the printing process. Users can specify their printer, which I have set to Flashforge. The options are: rafts - no; supports - no; resolution - 0.2mm; infill - 10%. If many modifications are made in customizer, some arrangements may fail without using these settings. When designing this base, achieving even distribution of points across a sphere proved surprisingly challenging. I referred to Jim Bumgardner's idea on openprocessing.org that used a fibonacci spiral for creating a consistent arrangement: http://www.openprocessing.org/sketch/41142
