How I Created This Model Every single piece of this fighter jet design was constructed from a basic shape in Tinkercad. This free tool is user-friendly and runs directly in your web browser, making it perfect for beginners. To start using Tinkercad, check out their Lesson Quests or utilize Thingiverse's Jumpstart resources specifically designed for Tinkercad users. To ensure that each shape was the correct size, we utilized the Ruler tool from Tinkercad's Helper menu on the right-hand side of the screen. By dragging the Ruler to any point on the blue Workplane, you can see the dimensions of each shape and adjust those measurements by entering them into the dimension text boxes (instead of manually dragging the components to their desired size). This process is shown in Tinkercad when the Ruler was placed on the Workplane while we worked on the initial component: To continue creating the model, I simply kept adding more component shapes and arranging them as needed. The process looked like this halfway through designing: And thus, my Empire State Building model came to life.
