thingiverse
The Snow Cat Explorer, designed by SL Interphase, LLC, is a unique vehicle built on the Logitraxx platform and utilizing around 25 GPIOs. It features a custom 182mm board compatible with Tamiya Vehicle Chassis kit mounting hardware and employs the Tamiya 70168 twin motor gearbox. Currently available on Kickstarter, the Snow Cat boasts an autonomous drive algorithm using two sonic range finders for obstacle avoidance and a light sensor controlling its lighting system. The Logitraxx board, powered by a Spartan 6 LX9 FPGA, also integrates a RC receiver for switching between autonomous and remote control modes. The Snow Cat cab attaches to the top via hot glue and supports the CSCR-55 servo on its roof. Its track legs are designed for Tamiya vehicle chassis kit bolt holes, while the Snow Cat Cab can also be mounted backwards to drive the vehicle in reverse.
