Logitech Z3 Cable Holder
thingiverse
My trusty Logitech Z3 speakers have been faithfully serving me for over 15 years, still delivering a decent sound quality despite their age. However, one major drawback holds them back from truly excelling: the flimsy plug that connects the satellite and remote to the base is a notorious noise-maker. Even the slightest touch of the cables sets off an annoying hiss due to its unstable design. If I'm being honest, it's been tempting to ditch this old system for something more modern and capable. Unfortunately, the inner workings of the base unit are also marred by poor engineering. Changing the plug is a frustratingly complex process that requires some creative problem-solving. To circumvent this issue, I came up with a clever mechanical hack that secures the plug in place, effectively silencing the noise altogether. It's been working flawlessly for me ever since. The solution relies on finding an M3 screw long enough to fit the job - I believe it was around 40mm, but I'm not entirely sure anymore.
