Logitech x56 (Saitek x55/x56) quick detach HOTAS chair clamps
thingiverse
This is a highly durable clamp designed specifically for a certain type of chair that features standard armrests commonly used by numerous budget-friendly brands (check out the photos). HOTAS Support Features: * Quick detachment of the hotas is essential, especially since our computer area is shared with other family members. * Strong and reliable, the hotas stay in place without any base shaking. * Additional screws for reinforcement are available, sacrificing quick detachability but gaining added strength. * Easy to print without supports required, the pieces fit together seamlessly, and all you need are M3 screws and bolts for the chair clamps. * Ideal for VR applications as you can move your chair around if needed. * Designed for a common chair design used by many brands. Mounting and Using It: Mounting is relatively straightforward... * First, adjust the mounting clamps to fit your chair as seen in the photos. Only the front part of the clamps needs adjustment, fitting right and left arms. Use 6 M3 screws on each clamp. * Then, attach the arms to the bases as shown in the rendered image. * To secure the hotas to the base, you can use whatever suits your needs. In my case, I printed the included pins and added two-sided adhesive foam tape to keep them in place. I did this for the throttle stick only; the control stick remains in position with the pins alone, making it more compact for storage. * If you want a stronger attachment, you can optionally add 4 20mm M3 screws to the base of the clamps once your hotas are in place. You can screw them or simply insert them without screwing into a bolt; they hold their position well. I use a small screwdriver for easy removal. I designed this clamp with a 15º down angle, allowing for better positioning on the chair and easier reach to the hotas from a relaxed posture. Modifications: The parts are simple, making it easy to modify them to fit your needs. With basic CAD knowledge, you can adjust the legs to accommodate your hotas or try adapting the clamps for your specific chair or create a table mount (I'm working on a variant for a table mount). You can work with the included STL files, but if you need individual parts, feel free to ask me. Additional Parts Needed: * 6x M3 15mm screws and bolts for the chair clamps. I use cheap nylon ones from Aliexpress that get the job done (you can find them here: https://es.aliexpress.com/item/32856585345.html). Keeping a stock of these on hand is always a good idea. * Optional: 4x M3 20mm screws and bolts to keep detachable parts fixed to the chair, adding extra strength to your mounting.
