Logitech Orbit/BCC 950 Alternate Mount for Monitor Stands!
thingiverse
I finally got a stand for my monitor array sorted, but my webcam was too low or not high enough to be used in any convenient location, so I grabbed the appropriate USB extension cable and sanded it down with a Dremel until it fit into the stalk of the Logitech BCC 950/Orbit webcam. I then crafted this mount to secure the cable with the camera at the top. If you check out the picture of my desk, the base is on the left side, with the stalk going up, but the camera is on the right! It even has a modular insert that I use to hold the tools to adjust the monitor stand! I've included a 'blank' STL that can be easily booleaned to hold the tools of your choice. Note that the wrench part on mine had to be filed down to fit the wrench, so I suggest coming up with your own shape for holding wrenches. I like the location though. Print Settings Printer: FFCreator Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 200 micron Infill: 10%, 3 shells for USB insert Notes: There are two main parts, the part that goes on your monitor, and the part that holds the USB cable/tools. For monitor mounts: 'MonitorMnt_UniCamV1.1.stl': This is the mount that fits on my Dell monitor (might work on others) and supports the webcam well 'MonitorMnt_UniCam.stl': This is a prototype.. 2D slice almost of the more stable one. Print this and you'll see pretty quickly if it'll fit your monitor or not. For the cable holders: 'USBinsert.stl': is a generic USB cable insert to support the cable and that's all it does. Simple. 'USBins_tools.stl': is a variant with an extra area with various holes for putting allen wrenches, etc. into for easy but discreet access. 'USBins_blank.stl': is a blank version of the above, designed to be easily modified using software, or by printing at 100% infill and attacking with a drill and Dremel. Your imagination is the limit! All parts designed to not need raft/supports. The above settings are the minimal recommended settings. Recommended Print Orientation like this (but recommend printing as separate jobs)
