Repair of My Old Logitech MX518 Mouse, With Printing of Lost Sensitivity Adjustment Button. I recently found myself in need of a repair for my trusty old Logitech MX518 mouse. The sensitivity adjustment button had somehow vanished into thin air, leaving me with no option but to print a replacement part using my 3D printer. The first step was to disassemble the mouse and locate the missing button. After carefully taking apart the plastic casing, I discovered that the button had indeed fallen off its mounting point. This was not a problem, as I knew I could easily reprint the button and reattach it to the mouse. Next, I designed a new sensitivity adjustment button using Tinkercad, a free online 3D modeling software. The design process was relatively straightforward, requiring me to simply recreate the original button's shape and size. Once I had completed the design, I exported it as an STL file, which I then sent to my 3D printer for printing. The printing process took about an hour, during which time I waited anxiously for the new button to materialize from the printer's nozzle. Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, the print was complete, and I eagerly removed it from the printer's platform. With the new button in hand, I proceeded to reattach it to the mouse using a small amount of super glue. The process was surprisingly simple, requiring only a few moments of careful alignment before the glue had set. After reassembling the mouse, I plugged it back into my computer and began testing its functionality. To my delight, everything worked perfectly, including the newly printed sensitivity adjustment button. In conclusion, repairing my old Logitech MX518 mouse with the help of 3D printing was a relatively simple process that required minimal technical expertise. The end result was well worth the effort, as I now have a fully functional mouse that looks and feels like new.
