Logitech MX Ergo Fixed Base

First off, let me please ask that if you enjoy these designs and find them useful, please go ahead and like, follow, and share my content. And if you have any ideas or concepts to modify the content, I would love to hear from you. I recently bought a Logitech MX Ergo to replace my beloved Logitech M570 trackball mouse. I didn't need to, but I wanted to. This is the Logitech MX Ergo mouse. https://www.logitech.com/en-au/product/mx-ergo-wireless-trackball-mouse The new mouse is great for my work, although it's quite a bit heavier and more suited for users who sit at a desk. In contrast, the M570 was incredibly light and easy to carry around. The MX Ergo has an unusual base design where a metal plate is held to the base of the mouse using magnets. The base allows the user to rock from one position to another, and the metal plate can be removed by simply pulling it away. Check out the previous Logitech page for more details. Why do I want to modify this? Well, the base comes loose in my bag when traveling, and the mouse is just too heavy compared to the M570 I had. I only ever need to use the mouse in one of the two positions, and I would prefer it if it were simplified. I appreciate their design, but it just doesn't suit my needs - But they do make the best trackball mice that I've ever used. So here's the compromise... I still have a few fitting issues to iron out (marked as a work in progress model), although this was just a quick design to help get my mouse on the right lean and remove the base. There are two pockets (2mm x 20mm x 20mm) to glue some ferrous metal squares, magnets, or whatever you like within to hold the base to the mouse. If you'd like the CAD file, please don't hesitate to ask. It would be great to see what others create - hopefully, I'm not the only one who thinks this way!
