There are a couple other model of trackball removal tools on Thingiverse, but I designed this one to be left in the mouse permanently rather than having to track it down once every week or two to clean the trackball rollers. If you use the mouse in the angled position with the stock metal plate, this can be left in permanently and won't interfere with the trackball at all. Simply remove the metal plate and push the wide end to pop out the ball. However, if you use it in the flat position, this won't fit. **Note: Because of the angle of the ball-removal hole, this doesn't sit flush against the base plate. I've shake-tested it and the tool doesn't fall out, but does shift around a bit. So if you're transporting the mouse regularly, might want to keep an eye on it.**
