Pulled an LCD from an old dead XPS M1730 laptop and connected it to my Belkin N52 Nostromo with a cherry mod after soldering a USB cable. I'm using Logitech LCD Manager 3.06 to get the display up and running. This setup is pretty cool, so far, and I hope this helps others who are looking for a low-cost solution. I plan on designing something more permanent eventually but for now, I'm happy with my little upcycled project. It's worth noting that you can also buy these displays cheaply on eBay by searching for "843-000002".
