Logitech c922 Webcam Cover (Slide to Open)
thingiverse
This is a "Slide-to-open" friction fit webcam cover designed specifically for the Logitech c922 webcam. It prints in three distinct pieces that seamlessly snap together without requiring any adhesive or glue. The design ensures that the blue "camera-is-active" lights remain uncovered, providing a clear view of the camera's status. Assembly may require some finesse, but with practice, it becomes easier. I've successfully assembled this cover four times, and I'll outline the method that works best for me below. First, seat the switch on the rails by inserting the "switch" end into the bottom rail first. You might need to bend the bottom part of the base rail slightly to facilitate a snug fit. Align the switch part over the corresponding hole and use your finger to push it away from the base while pressing the top of the switch part toward the top rail, effectively curving or bowing the switch until it snaps into place. Once the switch is securely in position and moves freely, insert the cover part by moving the switch to its closed position, placing the cover part into the base's channel to the left of the switch, ensuring that the indentation on the cover faces the switch. Slide the cover under the switch and rotate it until the indentation aligns with the switch, then snap it into place. Finally, friction fit the cover to the front of the webcam by sliding it left or right to center it securely in position.
