Update 2019-09-29: Added a few more photos to help illustrate the disassembly and assembly process.

I'm using a Logitech C310 webcam in conjunction with Octoprint on a Prusa i3 MK3 (and another on a MK3S). The focus setting on the C310 was not quite right. This can be adjusted by removing the cover plate, adjusting the lens, and then replacing the cover plate. I wanted to be able to adjust it again more easily should the need arise, and I found a design for a new cover plate and accessible focus ring for the very similar Logitech C270.

I modified that design as follows:

The focus ring required a "keyed" interface to the camera lens

I wanted to make the focus ring easier to turn, so I added ridges

I wanted the overall design to be thinner

I used 2mm socket head cap screws rather than countersink screws
The design of the "base", the part that attaches directly to the camera, is unchanged but included here for completeness.

I have also included a Fusion 360 file which is based on the STEP files from the original design.

Thanks to the designer of the original model!

Print Settings

Printer Brand: Prusa

Printer: MK3S

Rafts: No

Supports: No

Resolution: 0.15mm (0.20 is probably fine also)

Infill: 10%

Filament: CC3D Silk Blue PLA

Assembly

Carefully remove the original cover plate from the C310 to expose another plate which holds the lens cover.

Remove three small screws from that plate and remove it. Keep the screws.

Test fit the focus knob to get a feel for how it will attach and operate, then remove it.

Place the newly printed base in place and secure it with the three screws you just removed.

Slide in the focus knob like you did in the test-fit

Place the cover plate over the focus knob and attach with two m2x6mm socket head cap screws.

See the attached photos to see the original cover plate and the assembled version.
