Logitech C270 Webcam Mount for Original Prusa i3 MK2
thingiverse
The camera mount draws inspiration from the Logitech C270 mount by kareem613 and the Prusa i3 MK2 Sport Camera Holder created by mikolaszuza. Their creative inputs, combined with the impressive customizer Nuts and Bolts by mike_mattala, can be found in the Remix section. To attach the camera mount to the printer, simply slide it over the Y-carriage frame support on the front right side of the MK2. The C270 camera mount features a hinge pin that secures it firmly to the camera. A dual diameter bolt fits through the sliding mount, which can be adjusted by sliding the collar down from the top. This allows the M5 diameter threads to remain available for the camera mount and nuts. Two nuts are used as a locking nut arrangement to ensure stability. To remove the original weighted Logitech mount from the camera, use a thin knife to pry off the covers over the ends of the hinge pin. Then, use a screwdriver to remove the pin. It may be necessary to push the pin out with a thin screwdriver or similar tool. The printed camera mount will initially be loose on the hinge. To improve this, I used a small metal washer at one end of the hinge pin and a tiny rubber washer at the other end, as shown in the photos above. The C270 field of view is relatively narrow, which means it cannot capture the entire bed. However, I plan to experiment with different lenses or lens covers to achieve a wider field of view. Print Settings: Printer: Original Prusa i3 MK2 Rafts: No Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.20mm Infill: 40% Notes: Depending on the orientation you print certain pieces, supports may be necessary. For instance, the bolt will require supports when printed in a horizontal position. I also used supports for the C270 camera mount. The sliding bracket must be able to withstand the heat from the MK42 heated bed. I use Raptor PLA from MakerGeeks and anneal it in an oven after printing. This material has held up well, but ABS, PETG, or other high-temp PLAs such as Proto-Pasta's HTPLA can also be used.
