I've been using the default mounting arm for quite some time now, and it performs flawlessly - until I added a surround light and wide angle lens to my rig, that is. The combined weight became too much, causing the arm to sag badly. Despite tightening the mounting screw as hard as possible, it ultimately ended up spinning freely in its plastic socket. This modified mounting arm accommodates a standard M3 hex nut, similar to those found in the printer kit. However, be cautious during installation as excessive force can cause the plastic to crack.
