Logic Surrounds for RSeries Logics and Mr. Baddeley's R2-D2 Dome
thingiverse
This is a reworking of Mr. Baddeley's Front and Rear Logic Surrounds for his v2 Dome. This reworking removes the frame around the back of the surrounds, and also separates each surround into a front and back half in order to incorporate captive thin M3 nuts to hold JoyMonkey's RSeries Logic Engine (I have the 2017 kit, but I believe the mounting holes are club standard). Update 28 Sep 2018: The Version 3 Large Logic adds tabs to the front half to make alignment with the back half easier, the M3 holes are slightly wider, and there is now an alignment tool called the Assembly Helper. The Assembly Helper will help ensure your M3 nuts are sitting perfectly level: Place the nuts in the front half, run M3 bolts through the Assembly Helper, through the back half, and then into the nuts in the front half. Once satisfied with fit, remove the M3 bolts, apply your adhesive of choice between where the front half and back half meet and reassemble. After it's set, remove the M3 bolts and the Assembly Helper, and replace with your Logic Engines. I used the following parts: 14 x Medium-Strength Steel Thin Hex Nut, Class 04, Zinc-Plated, M3 x 0.5 mm Thread, part number 90695A033: https://www.mcmaster.com/#90695a033/=1e7lgah 14 x 18-8 Stainless Steel Socket Head Screw, M3 x 0.5 mm Thread, 35 mm Long, part number 91292A033: https://www.mcmaster.com/#91292a033/=1e7mt01 1 x Version 2017 JoyMonkey Logic Engine: https://github.com/joymonkey/logicengine/wiki http://astromech.net/forums/forumdisplay.php?63 And, of course, Mr. Baddeley's excellent v2 3D printable R-2-D2 droid: https://www.patreon.com/mrbaddeley
