Locust 5"
thingiverse
The Locust 5" is a lightweight race-oriented quadcopter that packs a punch, weighing just 60g with necessary hardware and sporting a rugged design. Optimized for cheap production, durability and compatibility, the Loc5 has a size of about 200mm motor to motor and uses an outer 40mm hole spacing, making it widely compatible with many Shendrones pods. I prefer using the Skinny Screamer 40 degree pod with my Loc5. The STL file for the Skinny Screamer Pod can be found in the Loc5 thing files; however, it is not my design, so I take no credit for it. I have only uploaded this file to the Loc5 page because I am unable to locate and link to the original listing for the Skinny Screamer Pod on Thingiverse. The pictured Loc5 weighs 270g with props and no battery, but its weight could easily be decreased by using different pods, a micro camera or a 4in1 ESC. Carbon Fiber Cutting Instructions: All Locust frame parts can be found ready to order on my Armattan productions store: https://armattanproductions.com/pages/kit_detail/1187. I use a 0% commission rate, so my parts and frames are as cheap as possible. Loc5 Arm: 5mm CF Locust 40mm/30.5mm Plate: 2mm CF 3D Printing Instructions: All Locust 3D printed parts should be printed in a flexible filament such as TPU. Loc5 Arm Guards: Print with 100% infill for optimal results; scaling may be necessary depending on your printer's accuracy. Skinny Screamer Pod: Print with 100% infill and supports to ensure stability. Enjoy! If you have any questions, feel free to leave a comment.
