Locking Dock for iPhone 6+ in Griffin Survivor Case
pinshape
Summary This is a dock for an iPhone 6+ housed in a Griffin Survivor case. It enables the use of headphones and an Apple Lightning adapter while docked, with the added convenience of a slide featuring a toggle lever to quickly disconnect the headphones and pause music playback. The dock securely holds the iPhone in place, while a lever located at the back unlocks and releases the phone straight outwards, preventing damage to the connectors. The rubber covers on the Lightning and headphone jack have broken off from repeated use, and I believe they would interfere with proper functionality if still intact. I envision that few others might require such a dock, given the iPhone's age and the case's typical design, which usually precludes docking capabilities. However, the source code is provided for those interested in modifying or replicating the design. The project involves significant use of vitamins, including 624 bearings and various screws in sizes M3, M4, and M5, as well as odd lengths of 20mm extrusion. I designed the parts around available components from my surplus bins. Some parts are substantial and might not be printable on a standard 3D printer; instead, they were designed to take advantage of my second printer's large build volume and E3D Volcano nozzle.
