This file outlines a parametric ball and socket mount that enables precise positioning of small objects at desired angles, such as pointing a touch-on LED closet light directly at an object of interest. The socket comes with screw holes for attaching securely to substrates like walls or doors. To secure the ball in place, you can attach objects to it using Velcro or adhesive. A 10-32 thumbscrew is used to apply pressure, holding the ball firmly in position with a 3/16" hole drilled through it. This mount utilizes McMaster-Carr's Item #: 91185A386. The file includes an option for creating a dimpled surface reminiscent of golf balls, making it easier to lock into place securely. For added strength and stability, a support flange was introduced underneath the set screw on August 17th, 2015.
