Launched in November 2010, Orion boasts high-quality textures and materials, with exterior detailing that includes animateable flaps, ailerons, rudder, elevators, and propellers. The landing gear is retractable and landing gear doors are closable. To enhance the model, developers increased face smoothness, raised poly-count, remodeled most of the aircraft from scratch, and revamped all materials. Available in multiple formats with various airline liveries, this Orion model was inspired by the Lockheed P-3 Orion, a four-engine turboprop anti-submarine and maritime surveillance plane developed for the United States Navy in the 1960s. It shares features with the L-188 Electra commercial airliner, such as its unique tail stinger or "MAD Boom" used for magnetic submarine detection.
