The November 2010 built, near scale Orion features high quality textures and materials, with numerous exterior details like animateable flaps, ailerons, rudder, elevators, and propellers. Its landing gear can be retracted, while the landing gear doors are closable. The model has smoother faces and increased poly-count, remodeled from scratch, and reworked materials. It comes in multiple formats with various airline liveries. Originally a turboprop anti-submarine and maritime surveillance aircraft for the US Navy, the Orion was based on the L-188 Electra commercial airliner, identifiable by its tail stinger or "MAD Boom" used in magnetic submarine detection.
