This model is constructed with remarkable accuracy to actual scale. The model boasts numerous animateable features, including turbines that rotate, landing gear that can be retracted or extended at will, fully opening landing gear doors, and rudder, elevators, ailerons, inboard flaps, and outboard flaps that can all be manipulated. It is thoroughly textured and comes equipped with an abundance of exterior details. This model has undergone significant improvements and updates to make it more accurate than our earlier 3D model built back in 2005. The L-1011 model was designed with animation and videos in mind, making it perfect for use as a dynamic or static element in airport scenes. It can also be easily downloaded into many formats from Max 2014 and programmed to work seamlessly with various flight simulation programs. The Lockheed L-1011 was engineered to bridge the gap between medium-haul airliners and large heavy jet airliners, directly competing with the DC-10. Over its long career spanning the early 1970s, hundreds of air carriers deployed the L-1011 extensively on continental routes, in the western hemisphere, Europe, and Asia. However, the L-1011 struggled with RR engine availability and ongoing maintenance issues. Despite these challenges, it boasted a superior safety record compared to its rival, the DC-10.
