This model is built at actual scale with precision. The model has fully animateable features such as turbines, landing gear retraction and extension, landing gear doors, rudder, elevators, ailerons, inboard and outboard flaps that are all intricately detailed. It is completely textured and includes a lot of exterior details for added realism. This model has been thoroughly improved and updated to be more accurate than our early 3D model built in 2005. The L-1011 model was specifically designed with animation and videos in mind, making it an ideal choice for creating realistic airport scenes as either an active or static subject. It is created in Max 2014 and can be easily converted into many other formats for instant downloading. This model can also be programmed to work seamlessly within various flight simulation programs. The Lockheed L-1011 was designed to fill the gap between medium-haul airliners and large heavy jet airliners, directly competing with the DC-10. It was used extensively on continental routes, in the western hemisphere, Europe, and Asia by hundreds of air carriers throughout its long career that began in the early 1970s. Despite facing issues with RR engine availability and ongoing maintenance problems, the L-1011 had a safer track record than the DC-10.
