Lockable Container

I recently crafted a mechanical counter solely to uncover its inner workings, so with "How it Works" in mind, this project delves into how a basic lock functions. Typically, a mortise lock embedded within a door features a latch that is opened by rotating the door handle and a deadbolt that can be locked or unlocked with a key. For the purposes of this project, I have eliminated the latch and utilize a single lever to secure the bolt. I have incorporated this mechanism into the lid of a container so you end up with a lockable container for securing small items. In the accompanying image, the bolt is colored green and the lever is red; when the key is inserted and turned, it initially lifts the lever from its locking engagement with the bolt and continues to turn before moving the bolt into its locked position. The cap can now be rotated 30° counterclockwise and removed from the container. The lever has been updated to include a cutout through the pivot hole. Check out the revised version of this with a concealed key at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3217723.
