Lockable Box / Cube v1
thingiverse
In an effort to create a 5x5 LED cube, I designed a model using Rhino software. You can learn more about the project at http://flashgamer.com/arduino/comments/making-a-blinkenlights-cube. The current version of my design is 1.0, and I plan to refine it as needed. My initial prototype was printed with a Makerbot using white plastic material, and I encountered an issue with the density of walls in the "latches." To ensure even light distribution, the latch density was calculated to be three layers; however, the Makerbot software initially struggled to add sufficient material. A revised version will include a small slit between the lid's latch and the box for easier access with a screwdriver or knife. This design can now be found on Youmagine at https://www.youmagine.com/users/jensa.
