This tiny device keeps my two-year-old out of my Billy bookshelf with doors. I designed it to fit between my doors, so make sure you have exactly six millimeters of clearance between them. You will need: 1 x M3 washer - any type will do, but bigger is better 1 x M3 screw or small wood screw; if you use an M3 screw, drill a hole that's two point five millimeters in diameter 1 x Spring (8x15 mm approx.); the inner diameter should be six millimeters exactly 1 x Small Wood Screw to fasten it to the shelf To give it extra strength, cut the spring down to size, ensuring it's powerful enough to pull the key back in. Assembly: Mount the ShelfBase to the underside of a shelf - make sure it's dead center. Next, insert the Key from outside and slide the spring over the inside; secure it with a screw and washer. That's it! This is an easy and discreet way to keep my two-year-old out. When it's no longer needed, the tiny screw mark underneath the shelf will be almost invisible. I know the assembly can be a bit tricky for some, but I'm working on a revised version that you'll be able to assemble before installing. Have fun with your print!
