Lock Blade Utility Knife Personal Modifications
thingiverse
I believe i originally printed this knife in the wrong orientation, so I took the time to also make some modifications as well as put the model in the correct orientation. I did not like the original lock in the handle of the knife, so I changed it. I honestly have no idea if its any better then the original design, I simply like it better, I've found that the lock is a lot tighter then the original. I extended the belt clip, was weak from the original orientation. I removed all of the raised holes, just because I didn't like the look. i intend the handle to use screws and bolts, I found that the pin to hold the knife in place did not work for me, hence why I changed the raised holes as well. on the knife holder itself, I removed the plastic "washers" that make contact to the knife handle, I used metal washers instead as I felt that the mechanism was a lot smoother afterword's. I also widened the slot where the knife blade sits, it was to tight before, I found myself hammering in the blade which is not ideal, this however means that the blade holder for sure needs a screw and bolt to make sure the blade does not slip out. I also extended the little grip for better ergonomics. as a side note about safety, I was working in the mechanism, working out high spots with the knife in, in short I cut myself so be careful and always work out high spots with the knife blade out. the STL's are in the intended printing position.
