Loch Bee Building

This building to the south of Loch Bee, South Uist, remains unrecorded. Most historians believe it's actually a medieval farmstead house and it shows signs of several enclosure boundary ridges forming a basic field system. It's highly unlikely that agriculture played a significant role in its use, as the poor peaty soils surrounding the area would have made farming nearly impossible.
