A recent excursion to the Achmore region on the Isle of Lewis unearthed an abundance of information - with many more discoveries waiting to be documented on future visits. This crumbling bothan, situated in the south-west of the Luerbost Airighean group, occupies a strategic position at the eastern end of Loch Airigh na h-Uisge (Loch of the Water Shieling). Positioned as it is, this is the most southerly of a trio of ruined bothans, cleverly situated against a small cliff to shield them from the prevailing wind direction.
