This mount for the Echo Dot was crafted to connect seamlessly to 1/2" Modular Hose, Loc-Line tube, and a clamp, allowing users to position the device closer to their body. Designed specifically for individuals with Multiple Sclerosis who rely on the Dot to control their environment, this custom-made accessory addresses a common challenge: weak voice commands that often go unheard. To address this issue, I integrated a spring clamp into the design, enabling users to attach the mount to over-bed hospital tables or wheelchair trays. A 1 1/2" long button head cap screw was then threaded through a drilled hole in the clamp, securing it firmly to a single piece of Loc-Line equipped with a washer that perfectly fits inside the ball nut and a nylon locknut. Through trial and error, I determined the optimal length for supporting the Echo Dot, ultimately settling on 18 links of Loc-Line tubing.
