Lobo Mill Mist Maker
pinshape
This setup was designed for use on a Lobo Mill and produces a fine mist to spray onto the tool for cooling purposes. The mist is visible, despite the image quality being poor. A server fan pushes air into the chamber, which in turn propels the mist up through the tube to the nozzle. To power this system, I built a compact 24VAC and 12VDC power supply unit, housed in a black box. I purchased a $4.80 mist maker from eBay, which came with multi-colored LEDs for an additional cost. Notably, it was cheaper to buy this model than the white LED or no-light versions. The tube used is typically employed for coolant purposes but I couldn't find an affordable supplier. Apparently, they're often used for spark plug wire covers, so I bought one for $1.50. The jar used in this setup was an old container I had on hand. Overall, my satisfaction with this project is around 5 out of 10. I may revisit this project but question whether it's worth the effort.
