LNER A4 Mallard Key Hanger - MMU2
prusaprinters

For the steam engine enthusiast, or perhaps a present for one you know.

Designed and printed myself in Fusion 360. I scaled this up to 240x48x25mm for the photo.

I took a photo of Mallard (the world's fastest steam engine), turned it black & white with IrfanView. Then I made many many changes to it in MS Paint (it allows individual pixel changes), then pushed it through Inkscape to get an SVG file. Then imported into Fusion 360 and cut the shapes to allow a coloured print on my MMU2 and added the 6 cylinders for hangers and added the background and drill holes.

The colours are in the filenames, with the exception of the Background. I chose Silver for that as the MMU2 supports 5 colours and I had 5 colours in use already including Silver.

This takes 7 hours 42 min to print on my Prusa MK3s/MMU2S - uses 66.75g so it's not too expensive on filament.

I used Eryone PLA for the print as I find if I have one manufacturer of filament in the MMU2, I get fewer issues. Eryone Silk Blue seems a reasonable match for Garter Blue.

This has 6 hangers which are slightly tilted to keep the keys hanging on.

Print Settings

Printer Brand:

Prusa

Printer:

i3 MK3 MMU 2

Rafts:

No

Supports:

No

Resolution:

0.2

Infill:

20%

Filament:
Eryone PLA Silver / Black / Silk Blue / Yellow / Red

Category: Organization
