To enhance my printer's X-Carriage, I sought a design that would fulfill several objectives. It had to support LM8UU linear bearings, allow tangential extruder mounting for increased print area, provide easy belt tension adjustment, accommodate an optical end-stop flag, ensure hot-end clearance and maintain narrow dimensions. None of the published designs met these requirements, so I created my own, utilizing a single-ended clamp to make space for bearings. Printing can be challenging, especially the belt clips, so try BeltClipTest.stl beforehand. Inspiration came from Josef Prusa and Greg Frost's designs. Once printed, remove support structures on belt clamps. Insert 3 LM8UU bearings (or alternatively, http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:12238 or http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:12493) and optionally secure with zip ties.
