LM6UU Bearing Holder Upgrade
thingiverse
This upgrade, originally posted at http://www.jamesrpatrick.com/2012/01/lm6uu-bearing-holder-upgrade.html, replaces stock eMAKER bearing holders and offers several improvements over the original design. The holder uses small zip-ties instead of wood screws for attachment to an eMAKER Huxley without altering the machine. Key features of this upgrade include: - Equal or reduced part count - Easier installation process - Resilience against failure under regular use - Lower printing material usage - Simplified design with no overhangs, making it easier to print To install, print with at least 50% fill. Seat LM6UU linear bearings into the holders and attach them to the laser-cut frog using zip-ties through existing holes. Tighten the ties with pliers, trim excess, and cooling/warping issues can be avoided by utilizing a printing plate for four holders.
