LM2596 / LM 2596 Case with Inline Mounts

Updated v2 Top Cover: Changed the voltage adjustment opening from a hole to a slot per feedback to allow for variance in manufacturing.

Yet another remix of this box to fit my specific buck converter, but I also couldn't find one with the mount tabs inline with the converter so I could mount it on single channel extrusion with t-nuts or zip ties, all others were for the dual rails or were made to stick on. Also the existing ones I tried were 3mm too big top to bottom so the posts didn't fit my recently purchased Valefod Buck Converters I got off Amazon, so I reduced the case vertically but left the horizontal and added the tabs for mounting.

For reference, my board says XY-2596 on a sticker on the back and have LM2596S on the chip on the front. The board mount holes are 27.5mm center to center vertical and nearly 55mm horizontally if you'd like to measure any alternate boards before printing. The buttons and holes all line up and work fine now.

I printed the case cover face down using PLA+ for ease but that left the surface dulled from bed. If you just pass over it a couple times with a lighter carefully it will bring the deeper color back for a nice clean look.

Rail mounted it at the back rear of my Ender 5 Pro to run a hot end Noctua 40x20. Will also print just the bottom for the fan inside the control box and then just stick it on to keep it from touching any metal.

Good luck everyone!

Print Settings

Printer Brand:

Creality

Printer:

Ender 5

Rafts:

Doesn't Matter

Supports:

No

Resolution:

.2

Infill:

<80 (just consider the flex of the buttons)

Filament: Inland PLA+ Black

Category: 3D Printing
