I'm building a custom CoreXY project that requires precision and reliability. To achieve this, I've selected high-quality components, including a 10mm carbon fiber rod bearing lined with PTFE (Teflon) for smooth movement. To prepare the bearing, I use a cutting guide to divide the PTFE into manageable sections, each approximately 10mm in length. After testing different configurations, I found that placing these 10mm PTFE pieces at both ends of the bearing resulted in improved performance compared to using a single, longer 28mm piece. The PTFE tube itself was sourced from McMaster, a reputable supplier known for their wide range of components and excellent quality control measures.
